From December 7 to December 9, a group of students from the Nelly-Sachs-Gymnasium went on their return visit to the Scala College in Alphen on the Rhine (NL) in order to attend their annual MUN-conference.

The opening ceremony was held in the Town Hall, where a local politician gave a motivational speech about political involvement and told us about sustainable chocolate, which we were able to eat. Another guest speaker was from Doctors Without Borders. He explained the organization‘s incredible work to us and later on, donations were collected for them with the help of a lottery.

For the discussions all delegates returned to the Scala College. The topics varied from racial discrimination to human trafficking, the current situation in Yemen, child labor and hyper-nationalism. All delegates had the opportunity to learn many new things, get to know new people and improve their English skills.

And with a party – which was eventually turned into a foosball tournament – everyone had a lot of fun!
